Fuel Their Future — Webinar 3
Healthy, Strong & Ready for the Sporting Year
Recovery, Healthy Habits & School-Year Nutrition
Is Your Young Athlete Ready for the School and Sporting Year?
School is back, training schedules are filling up, and suddenly you're juggling school lunches, homework, afternoon training sessions and weekend competitions.
But amongst all the busyness, have you stopped to consider whether your child is getting enough nourishment to support not only their sporting performance, but also their growth, recovery and overall health?
Are they coming home from school absolutely starving? Struggling with fatigue after training? Constantly picking up illnesses? Or perhaps you're wondering whether their lunchbox is providing enough energy to get them through a full day of school followed by sport?
You're certainly not alone.
As parents, we want our children to be healthy, strong and thriving. But knowing exactly what to feed a growing athlete, especially when life gets busy, isn't always straightforward.
That's why I've created the final webinar in our Fuel Their Future — Youth Sports Nutrition Series.
What Will We Cover?
Join me for an engaging, practical and educational session where we'll explore how everyday nutrition, recovery and healthy routines can help support your child's growth, sporting performance and long-term wellbeing.
We'll explore:
Building a Performance Lunchbox: How to create nourishing, balanced school lunches that provide enough energy for learning, growth and afternoon training, with realistic whole-food examples.
Fuelling After-School Sport: What to feed children when they're heading straight from the classroom to the sporting field, pool or gym, including timing and easy-to-digest snacks.
Recovery Beyond the Training Session: The roles of carbohydrates, protein, hydration, sleep and rest in helping young bodies recover and adapt.
Immune Health Through Nutrition: How adequate food intake, key nutrients and everyday ingredients such as ginger, turmeric, cinnamon and other culinary herbs can contribute to a nourishing dietary pattern.
Growth, Iron & Bone Health: Why iron, calcium, vitamin D and sufficient energy are important during childhood and adolescence, and when persistent fatigue or recurring injuries warrant further investigation.
Recognising Underfuelling: Warning signs that a young athlete may not be meeting their energy needs, and why restrictive diets and body-image pressures have no place in healthy junior sport.
Preparing for Sporting Comfort: Practical strategies for reducing friction, chafing and irritation during training and competition.
Creating a Sustainable Family Routine: Simple weekly preparation strategies that make healthy eating achievable without spending hours in the kitchen.
Whole Foods First. Healthy Growth Always.
At Compleat Vitality, I believe that good nutrition starts with real, nourishing food.
Our approach isn't about calorie counting, restrictive diets, expensive supplements or expecting children to eat perfectly.
It's about understanding how food supports growing bodies and providing children with the nutrients and energy they need to feel their best.
As a naturopath and clinical nutritionist, I take a holistic approach to health, considering nutrition alongside digestion, immune function, recovery, sleep and overall wellbeing.
Throughout this webinar, I'll combine practical whole-food nutrition strategies with established Australian sports nutrition principles, helping you make informed decisions that suit your child's age, activity level and individual needs.
A Little About Your Presenter
I'm Elissa-Rae, naturopath, clinical nutritionist, amateur triathlete and founder of Compleat Vitality.
Having grown up as a competitive swimmer, I understand the demands that sport can place on a young body.
I also know what it's like to experience fatigue, recurring illness and periods of burnout while trying to keep up with training and competition.
Looking back, I wish there had been more education around nutrition, recovery and the importance of fuelling growing athletes properly.
Today, I'm passionate about helping families understand that supporting a young athlete isn't just about preparing them for their next competition. It's about protecting their health and building habits that will support them for years to come.
